Fire Risk Assessments
Fire risk assessments are a legal requirement that all Responsible Persons must complete in buildings they have control or part-control over. This includes building owners, employers, landlords and occupiers.
Written records must be kept of all completed FRAs, and they should be regularly reviewed to ensure they are an accurate record of the level of assessed risk. FRAs can be completed by the Responsible Person(s) or by appointed 'competent persons'. All assessments must be completed fully and provide a record of all current fire hazards, the people at risk from these hazards, the actions required to reduce or remove the identified hazards and a clear action plan for reducing the level of assessed risk.
The BlueLight Fire Engineering risk assessors have experience of completing FRAs across all building types, including large warehouse buildings, complex healthcare buildings, school and university sites and high-rise residential properties. We utilise bespoke app-based FRA templates for different building types that provide well-presented and easy to understand FRA reports which clearly define the significant findings and action plans for rectifying these. After completing and issuing the FRAs to clients, we provide ongoing advice and support during the completion of the recommended remedial and mitigation actions helping ensure that the level of risk is reduced to as low as is possible. We also advise clients on the need for reviews of all completed FRAs ensuring that the completion of all FRAs and reviews is seamless and fully compliant.
Where an FRA identifies defects and corresponding remedial works, the BlueLight Fire Engineering team are able to provide ongoing support during all inspection and remedial works across all passive and active fire safety systems. Following completion of these works we can then review the FRAs and ensure the level of risk is effectively managed.
