Fire Door Inspections
Fire doors are an integral part of the fire resisting compartmentation provided within buildings. Defects to a fire door or a door that is unable to be closed fully will create a route for fire and smoke spread across compartment lines.
To help ensure that fire doors will operate and perform as required in the event of a fire, regular fire door inspections by qualified and experienced fire door inspectors should be completed.
Inspections undertaken and managed by BlueLight Fire Engineering include a full set of inspection data for all doors inspected and a full fire door register which can be used for asset management and the ongoing maintenance and inspection of the fire doors. The data from the inspections clearly sets out the issues identified with each door and the recommended actions for rectifying all non-compliances.
We are able to identify where non-compliances are as a result of either defective specification and installation or through lack of maintenance. Where fire doors are identified as having been non-compliant from the time of installation, BlueLight Fire Engineering can advise you on the possible recovery options for the costs expended to repair or replace the doors.
All of our fire door inspections are carried out by third-party accredited fire door inspectors who are experienced in completing inspections in a range of different building types. Where further works to remediate or replace fire doors is required following a fire door inspection, BlueLight Fire Engineering can provide ongoing advice and guidance to help you achieve full compliance and to help you maintain your fire doors going forward.
